DENTON, Texas - Junior hurdler Coby Morrison outkicked Baylor's Kevin Mutai down the stretch to win the 400-meter hurdles during the Brooks/North Texas Spring Classic at Fouts Field Saturday afternoon.

Morrison also finished fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 10.45.

Sandwiched between the Texas Relays and the TCU Relays, the North Texas Spring Classic featured teams from TCU, Baylor, Arkansas State, Texas and Abilene Christian. Gusty winds curbed the times and marks Saturday.

Freshman Idilio Campos placed third in the men's 1,500 meters with a time of 4:05.27.

Senior Shay Collett cleared 4.90 meters (16-00.75) to take second place in the pole vault competition.

Junior Quinchun Carey won the men's long jump with a leap of 7.16 meters (23-06) and took second in the triple jump with a 14.22 meters (46-08).

Freshman Andrew Duncan finished fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 46-01.25.

Michael Cast won the javelin with a throw of 192-10.
