FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - UT Arlington senior sprinter Jared Connaughton picked up where he left off last season by capturing the men's 200 meter championship race with a personal-best time of 21.21 at the Arkansas Invitational late Friday.

The time is the second fastest indoor time in school history trailing only Elston Cawley's mark of 20.68 in 1998. Connaughton's time better his previous 200-meter indoor best of 21.57 to win the 2006 SLC Indoor Championship in Houston.

Senior Jon McDowell, the defending SLC outdoor 110-meter hurdle champion, took fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a indoor-best time of 8.06.

In the women's division, freshman Christina Mose claimed second place in the mile run with a time of 5:28.23 in a duel with Kansas State freshman Lindsay Pierson who won the race with a time of 5:10.93.

Sophomore transfer Ida Landgraff clocked the fourth fastest indoor time in school history with a 2:12.92 for fifth place in the women's 800 meters.

Senior Linda Rosema broke her own school record in the weight throw with a toss of 16.92 meters (55-06.25), breaking her old mark by more than three feet. She also finished seventh in the shot put with an indoor personal best of 13.06m (42-10.25) by a half-inch.

Senior Vanessa Maida led a group of three Mav pole vaulters in the top 10 with a vault of 3.70 meters (12-feet, 1.5-inches) for sixth place. Sophomore Erin Cluiss was ninth (3.55m/11-07.75) and senior Lacey Moore was 10th (3.40m/11-01.75).

Other notable marks include: • Sophomore Wade Hayes claimed second place in the pole vault with a vault of 16-feet, 4.75-inches.
• Two-time NCAA long jump qualifier, Quinchun Carey, took fifth place with a jump of 23-09.50.
• Sophomore Andrew Duncan III claimed fifth place in the triple jump with a leap of 14.53 meters (47-08.00).
• Junior Jody Broccoli-Hickey finished eighth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8-minutes, 53.65-seconds.
