ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington men's tennis fell 5-2 to No.71 TCU in a non-conference match on Tuesday. The Mavs drop to 5-6 on the season heading into the Boise State Invitational.
Doubles partners Alberto Agis and Dmitry Minkin won their match 9-8, but the Mavs lost the doubles point when TCU picked up the other two doubles matches.
Minkin also scored UTA's first point as downing TCU's Andrew Ulrich 6-4 6-4 in the No. 5 slot.
As the No. 6 singles Gonzalo Bienzobas picked up the Mavs second point of the match, winning 6-1 6-1 over Stuart Row.
After dropping the first set 6-2, Daniel Omana battled back to take the second set 7-6, but lost the tiebreaker 7-5.
The Mavs will be back in action starting at the Boise State Invitational starting Friday.
