COLUMBUS, Ohio - - The UT Arlington golf team shot a 26-over-par 310 on the final day of the NCAA Central Regional Tournament on Saturday and finished the tournament in 22nd place. For the second consecutive day, Bobby Massa turned in UTA's best round, shooting a 2-over-par 73 and finishing in tie for 33rd overall at the tournament held in Columbus, Ohio, at The Ohio University Scarlet Course.
As a team, UTA shot a 308-298-310=916.
Wake Forest captured the NCAA Central Regional Championship with a 290-287-302=879. The only Texas school to finish in the Top 10 and advance to nationals is Texas A&M.
Just behind Massa on the Mavericks individual chart was Michael van de Venter, who shot a 15-over-par 75-76-77=228. Kevin Carrigan was 75th with a three-round score of 230.
