Sinha's third place leads Mavericks at All-American Intercollegiate

HUMBLE, Texas – UT Arlington men's golf finished play at the All-American Intercollegiate and it was once again Arth Sinha leading the way for the Mavericks. The freshman carded his second 1-under-par 71 round in a row, finishing alone in third place. It's the second time this spring Sinha has individually placed in the top three at a tournament.

The Melbourne, Florida-native birdied five holes and parred nine in his final round of action. Sinha was among the best in the field on par-5's, finishing 5-under for the tournament on such holes which was the third-best mark of the event. The freshman also had the second most birdies among the field with 11.

All told, the freshman finished with a 4-over 220 overall. Sinha was six strokes back of Tarleton State's Alvaro Pastor, the tournament winner and only golfer in the 80-player field to finish below par.

Following Sinha on the leaderboard was Ajay Morris. Morris finished alone in 36th after posting a 4-over 76 in the final round. The freshman also found paydirt on par-5's, finishing 3-under for the tournament which was tied for the fifth-best score on the holes. Morris finished 15-over for the Intercollegiate.

Nicholas Lyman matched Morris' 4-over 76 in round three, rising one spot into a tie for 65th place. The freshman birdied five holes — more than double his total in the first two rounds combined — and finished with a 22-over 238 for the event.

Four strokes behind Lyman was Matthew Broder. Broder birdied three holes during his 6-over 78 final round. The junior recorded a 26-over 242 for the tournament, placing in a tie for 72nd.

Michael Chevalier rounded out the UTA lineup with an 11-over 83. The junior shot a 34-over 250 for the tournament.

Jen chie Huang wrapped up his round in individual competition, finishing in a tie for 21st among the solo players after an 11-over 83 in the final round. The sophomore carded a 24-over 240 for the tournament.

As a team, the Mavericks finished in 14th place. UTA's third round was its lowest, the Mavericks recording a 301 that brought the total to a 64-over 928.
