Brickyard Collegiate Day Two Results
Macon, Ga. - Saturday's in a golf tournament are generally known as "moving day". It's the day to shoot a low round and keep moving up the leaderboard.
In the second round of the Brickyard Collegiate Saturday in Macon, Georgia, no UT Arlington golfer was able to shoot par or better and the team ended the day in eighth place.
After a season best 292 in the opening round Friday, the Mavericks shot a 10-over 298 Saturday and they now find themselves 19 shots out of the lead heading into Sunday's final round.
"We were looking a being better Saturday but that wasn't case today," UTA head coach Jay Rees said. "We still have a chance for a good finish and if we can have a round where we play to our capabilities Sunday we will be able to do that."
Zack Fischer and Paul McConnell were the top players for the Mavs Saturday as they each shot a one-over 73. Fischer is now in a tie for 8th at 2-under 142 while McConnell is in a tie for 37th at 5-over 149.
Wes Worster and Enrique Livas counted for the other two scores for the Mavericks Saturday as they each shot 76. Worster slid down the leaderboard to a tie for 32nd at 4-over 148 while Livas is in a tie for 47th at 7-over 151.
Cameron Hollek improved Saturday to a 78 and is in a tie for 78th at +16.
