Final Stats
Lubbock, Texas - Lubbock, Texas - Mike Singletary and Brad Reese each had double-doubles to lead Texas Tech to a 73-56 victory over UT Arlington Tuesday.
Singletary led all scorers with 17 points and added 10 rebounds while Reese had 15 points and a team-high 15 rebounds to lead the Red Raiders (6-6).
Texas Tech used a 16-0 run over the span of six minutes from the end of the first half to the start of the second half to take control of the game.
The run started after the Mavericks cut an early lead to four at 28-24 with two and a half minutes to play in the first half. UTA did not score again until four minutes had elapsed in the second half but by then the Red Raiders had control of the game.
Texas Tech (6-6) extended the lead steadily in the second half and lead by as many as 23 at 51-28. The Mavericks (5-5) did make a run midway through the second half to cut the lead to 10 with eight minutes to play but could not get any closer than that the remainder of the game.
Robert Lewandowski also scored in double figures with 12 points for Texas Tech.
Bradley Gay led UT Arlington with 14 points while LaMarcus Reed and Bo Ingram each added 10. Brandon Edwards had a team-high 10 rebounds along with six rebounds for UT Arlington.
Texas Tech shot 36.8 for the game while the Mavericks were held to a season-low 29.3% from the floor which included a 5-for-22 night from 3-point range. Tech led the rebounding margin 45-34.
The Red Raiders also had a decided advantage at the foul line as they made 25-of-35 while UTA was 17-of-19.
