SERIES VS. MCMURRY

LAST TIME OUT
The UT Arlington women's basketball team suffered its first road loss of the season to Arkansas, 57-34 Wednesday afternoon at the Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville, Ark. The setback dropped the Mavericks to 0-3 on the season.

The Mavericks tied the game 15-15 with 5:59 left in the half behind a strong performance from freshman Chauntandra Williams. However, Arkansas ended the half with a 10-4 run and headed to the locker room up 25-19. Williams scored nine points in the half.

Arkansas continued their run when the half ended. They quickly raced out to a 13-point lead and gradually added to the lead until the final whistle.

The Mavericks were held back by 20 turnovers, which turned into 24 points for the Razorbacks. The Mavs finished the afternoon shooting 26.9 percent from the floor. Chauntandra Williams led all scorers and posted a Mavericks season-high with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 2-of-4 from behind the arc.

Kiara Parker posted a team-high 12 rebounds and also added four points.

COACH MORROW'S TAKE
"Hopefully our defensive intensity and execution will carry over the from Arkansas game. We played pretty well defensively against them. We just need to cut down on the turnovers and shoot the ball a little better. We have to hit the open shots. We're seeing some progression from some of our young players, and we just need to execute."
