WICHITA, Kan. - Lionel Mungwari led UT Arlington to place four of the top five in the men's long jump Friday night at the Varsity Apartments Shocker Quad.
Mungwari won the event, tying his season-best with a jump of 7.21 meters. Romain Martin qualified for his fourth event in the Southland Conference Indoor Championships by turning in a long jump of 6.69 meters. He finished second in the event.
Gabriel Hilliard (6.64 meters) and Patrick Kimbley (6.46 meters) finished third and fourth, respectively.
Isiah Clements turned in a new season-best with a high jump of 2.10 meters, finishing second.
For the women, Jennifer Brown turned in the day's highlight by finishing third in the long jump with a mark of 5.64 meters.
Host school Wichita State leads the meet on the men's and women's side. The Shockers' men's team leads UTA by six points (37-31). The Mavericks rank third on the women's side, trailing the Shockers by 26 points.
The Varsity Apartments Shocker Quad concludes Saturday.
