Sophomore Briana Walker led UTA with 11 points and nine rebounds.
UT Arlington won the rebound battle, 41-40 and also outscored the Islanders with second chance points, 12-2.
"When you haven't won games and it comes down to the end like that it's just tough," Morrow said.
The Mavericks head to Nacogdoches, Texas Saturday to take on the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks at 6 p.m. in the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
