Texas Hall - Arlington, Texas

Series: Fresno State leads 1-0

The UTA Mavericks are coming off their second victory of the season beating Houston Baptist, 78-61 Saturday at Texas Hall.

Freshman Takiyah Langford had the Maverick's first double-double of the season against HBU with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

"(Takiyah Langford) was able to get some easy shots to start off the second half," head coach Samantha Morrow said. "Honestly, the 12 rebounds to me are just as important as the 20 points that she got."

It has been a quarter of a century since the last time these two teams contested against each other. Fresno State beat the Mavericks 78-49 in 1987 in Fresno Calif.

The Bulldogs are coming off their 10th victory of the season as they defeated UC Riverside 67-62 in a close matchup.

"Fresno is an exceptionally good team, you really appreciate how hard they work and how they crash the offensive boards," Morrow said. "We're probably going to have to play the best on ball defense that we have all year."

Ki-Ki Moore was the Bulldog's leading scorer with 18 points and 11 rebounds. The sophomore from San Francisco averages 17.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

"She's so fast," Morrow said about Moore. "She's just a phenomenal player, watching her on film, she looks extremely fast."

The Mavs face off against the 10-3 Fresno State Bulldogs at home in Texas Hall at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
