Arlington, Texas - The Mavericks open conference play Saturday at 2 p.m. as they travel to Thibodaux, La. to take on Nicholls State.
"It doesn't matter what your record is coming into Saturday," said head coach Samantha Morrow. "It starts counting on Saturday."
This will be the 35th contest between the two teams with UT Arlington winning 33 of the last 34 match ups.
UT Arlington lost its ninth game of the season after facing Fresno State at home, 78-48 in Texas Hall Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Nicholls is also coming off their sixth loss of the season after Arkansas-Little Rock defeated the Colonels 62-48.
Nicholls has three players averaging in double figures and the Mavericks have to step up their defense to slow them down.
"Nicholls is a real good team and it's tough to play at Nicholls. We've got to have great practice the next three days and get out there and get after it," said Morrow.
