WB: Five compete at UTA Bed Races

ARLINGTON, Texas - The UT Arlington women's basketball team had five team members participate in the 23rd annual Bed Races at Maverick Stadium.

Malaika Green, Desherra Nwanguma, Micah Cisneroz, Laila Suleiman and Jordan Holub represented the women's team.

The event, which began in 1980 to commemorate the opening of UTA's Maverick Stadium, consists of men's, women's and co-ed teams racing down the field on beds. The winner is the team which makes it down the field the fastest in heats that consists of two teams racing side by side.

Awards are given out for the teams for the following;

Fastest in Women's Division
Fastest in Men's Division
Fasted in Co-recreational division
Most Spirited Individuals (5)
(Judged upon creativity, enthusiam, attire)
