ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington is back on the court Saturday, Dec. 29 after a seven-day break as they travel to Las Cruces, New Mexico to take on New Mexico State at Pan American Center at 7:30 p.m. CST.
This marks the first game for the Mavericks in the Western Athletic Conference and the team hopes to jump out to a quick start with a victory.
The Mavericks are coming off a 90-54 loss to No. 15 Oklahoma State at College Park Center on Dec. 22.
UT Arlington leads the all-time series between the two schools 4-0. The last time the Mavericks and the Aggies met, UTA defeated NMSU 62-50 in Las Cruces in 2005.
The Aggies are 6-4 on the season and sitting in first place in the WAC along with Texas State. Danesia Williamson is leading New Mexico State averaging 14.2 points per game, while Kelsie Rozendall is leading the team in rebounding with 6.2 per game.
UT Arlington is led in scoring by Malaika Green at 8.2 points per game, with Aron Garcia leading with 7.4 rebounds per game.
