UT Arlington heads to San Marcos to face the Texas State Bobcats Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Oscar Strahan Colisem.
Texas State is tied for second in the Western Conference standings despite losing their last two games to Nicholls State and Central Arkansas.
Wednesday's contest will be the 57th meeting between the two schools.
UT Arlington leads the series 41-15. Texas State leads the series 33-23 with the Bobcats defeating the Mavericks 90-73 in January.
"That was a game that we felt like we could have won. We got behind and battled back and the last three minutes used up all our energy and were just unable to close it out," UT Arlington head coach Samantha Morrow said. "We just have to do a better job defensively and hopefully we'll shoot better."
The Mavericks hope to beat the Bobcats beforing heading back home to face the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks.
