UT Arlington falls to McNeese State 70-50 in College Park Center for their last home game of the 2011-12 season.
Bianca Sauls started off senior night with the first jumper of the game to give the Mavericks a 2-0 lead.
Sauls got a charge call to go her way in the first half and the Mavericks pickup play. Each team headed to the locker room with 10 field goals and McNeese State leading 37-29.
"We had too many turnovers and we've got to start taking care of the ball better," UT Arlington head coach Samantha Morrow said.
The Mavericks went on 3-0 run to start the second half followed by a three-minute long dry spell where the Maverick could not connect.
Junior Kiara Parker finished the game as UTA's leading scorer with 13 points while also grabbing seven rebounds. Briana Walker led the team in rebounding with eight boards and knocking down seven points.
"Kiara had a confidence about her today and we need to see more of that," Morrow said.
The Cowgirls' dynamic duo (Ashlyn and Caitlyn Baggett) scored a combined 33 points for McNeese.
The Mavericks have a few days off before heading to Northwestern State to face the Lady Demons Saturday at 2 p.m.
