Andrae Patterson promoted to assistant coach

July 5, 2012

Arlington, Tex. - UT Arlington men's basketball coach Scott Cross announced today that Andrae Patterson has been promoted to one of the program's assistant coaches.

Patterson, who had spent the last two seasons as the program's director of operations, replaces Derrick Daniels who was recently named an assistant coach at Eastern Hills High School in Fort Worth, Texas.

"I am excited to have Andrae as one of our assistant coaches," Cross said. "He has done a great job with our program over the last few years and I look forward to the positives he can bring as an assistant coach."

Patterson, a native of Abilene, Texas, was an All-American at Indiana University and played for the Minnesota Timberwolves for two seasons after his collegiate career. He then finished his career by playing nine seasons in Europe including stops in Spain and Greece.

"The UTA program is one that is on the rise and I am thrilled to have this opportunity to be an assistant coach," Patterson said. "With the opening of the College Park Center and our move into a new conference this year, it is an exciting time to be part of this program."
