ARLINGTON, Texas – First Team NJCAA All-American Tristan Hankins has signed to play for the UT Arlington Mavericks in 2026-27, head men's basketball coach
KT Turner has announced.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound shooting guard spent his freshman year at Butler (Kan.) Community College. There, he became the first Grizzly since 2010 to earn All-America honors. He also was named to the NJCAA National Tournament Team and grabbed Region 6 Tournament MVP honors.
In 2025-26, Hankins played in 31 games, starting 26 times, and averaged 18.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. He scored at least 20 points on 14 occasions, including 37-point and 35-point outbursts. The native of Idabel, Okla., shot 47.1 percent from the field and 77.1 percent from the free throw line.
Hankins attended Moore (Okla.) High School and played club basketball for Team Trae Young Elite. He received offers from Central Michigan, Tarleton State, Nebraska Omaha and Charleston Southern.
