SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The UT Arlington men's golf team finished tied for eighth at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational after Tuesday's third and final round. The Mavericks were plus-34 three-round total of 886 at the par-71 Oak Hills Country Club.
Riley Fleming was UT Arlington's top finisher, tying for 12th with a 4-over 213. Fleming shot a 72 on Tuesday to move up the leaderboard after starting the tied for 15th.
Hunter Brown also finished in the top 20 with a 220 that tied for 18th. Paul McConnell (224, T35), Brad Mason (225, T39) and Cash Wilkerson (240, T79) complete the Mavericks' team showing.
Playing as an individual, Cameron Hollek's 234 tied for 67th.
UT Arlington shot a 10-over 294 on Tuesday after opening rounds of 290 and 302 on Monday.
"It was a cold fay, cold and cloudy, but we grinded out a better day," Mavericks coach Jay Rees said. "Riley led the way with a 72, Paul 74, Hunter 74 and Brad 74.
"We had a below average putting week and an inconsistent striking week. We have 10 days before we compete again down in Houston. We have to keep doing our wedge work, more putting work and keep creating more opportunities with our ball striking."
UT Arlington will compete in the Redstone Houston Invitational from Feb. 22-23.
