Round 1 Results 
HUMBLE, Texas - UT Arlington men's golf team is tied for fourth after Friday's first round of the 2013 Bayou City Collegiate Championships. Round 2 of the three-day, 54-hole event begins Saturday at 10 a.m. at The Redstone Golf Club in Humble, Texas.
The Mavericks shot a 2-over-par 290 as a team. Texas leads the tournament with a 3-under 285. Baylor (286) and Charlotte (289) are second and third, respectively. Chattanooga is tied with UT Arlington.
"We were leading the tournament with four holes to go at 6-under par," UT Arlington coach Jay Rees said. "It was windy and started to get cold. We had some three-putts and we had some double-bogeys coming in.
"The last three holes are difficult, but we have to prove that we can finish off a good round of golf."
Paul McConnell led the way for the Mavericks with a 3-under par 72 that tied for third on the individual leaderboard. Riley Fleming was also in the top 20, tying for 16th with an even-par round. Rounding out the UT Arlington fivesome were Brad Mason (74, T41), Cameron Hollek (75, T53) and Hunter Brown (78, T70).
