MT: Mavs fall 4-1 to UTSA

April 26, 2013

DENVER, Colorado -- The UT Arlington men's tennis team was eliminated from the Western Athletic Conference Tournament after a 4-1 loss to in-state rival UTSA at the Gates Tennis Center.

"This was not the outcome we're hoping for, however I feel proud of each and everyone of the members of our team," UT Arlington coach Diego Benitez said. "They showed great professionalism and maturity when facing adversity."

The Mavericks lead would end there. The Roadrunners took four single matches to clinch the 4-1 victory.

Javier Perez was the first Maverick to fall in singles competition as UTSA took its first point at the No. 5 position to even the score 1-1.

The Mavericks dropped No. 3, 2 and 1 singles, respectively as the 2013 season ended for UT Arlington.
