THE GAME: The UT Arlington women's basketball travels to Bowling Green, Kentucky to face Western Kentucky Wednesday night at E.A. Diddle Arena at 7 p.m. This will be the first meeting between the two schools.

SCOUTING WESTERN KENTUCKY: The lady Toppers are 13-5 overall and 5-2 sitting in second place in the Sun Belt standings. Junior guard Chastity Gooch is leading the team averaging just shy of a double-double with 18.1 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. Fellow junior Alexis Govan averages 16.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while playing at the guard and post position.
LAST TIME OUT: UT Arlington women's basketball dropped a 73-72 heartbreaker in overtime to South Alabama Saturday evening in College Park Center. Senior center Desherra Nwanguma led the Mavericks with 19 points and a season-high 17 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Fellow senior Briana Walker scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds before fouling out. Junior guard Tahlia Pope flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 10 points, nine rebounds and nine assists.
WHO TO WATCH: Senior center Desherra Nwanguma has picked up a double-double in her last three outings including 19 points and 17 rebounds against South Alabama. She averages 15.6 points per game in league play, fifth in the Sun Belt.
GERLICH ERA: Krista Gerlich is in her first season at UTA after seven years at West Texas A&M. Gerlich compiled an impressive record of 168-53 in seven seasons at West Texas A&M. Her teams won four consecutive South Division Lone Star Conference titles from 2007-10 and three consecutive Lone Star Conference championships from 2008-10.
LINEUP CHANGE: Coach Gerlich has used five lineups in 18 games so far this season. Senior Laila Suleiman and junior transfer Tahlia Pope, have remained starters i n all 18contests.
MAVERICKS IN 2013-14: UT Arlington returns eight letterwinners and two starters from last year. The Mavericks welcome two freshmen as well as four transfers (one sophomore and three juniors) for the 2013-14 season.
