Final Stats

ARLINGTON, Texas - UT Arlington's second half comeback attempt fell short on Wednesday night at College Park Center, as the University of Louisiana at Monroe claimed an 84-67 Sun Belt Conference victory.

The Mavericks lost their third straight game falling to 1-13 overall and 0-3 in SBC competition.

Senior Briana Walker led the Mavs with 19 points and seven rebounds. Laila Suleiman and Tahlia Pope also scored in double figures, combining for 26 points.

"We started the first half with way too many turnovers," UT Arlington coach Krista Gerlich said. "When we started the second half our offensive execution was much better and we didn't turn the ball over."

The Mavericks won the tipoff, but struggled to connect offensively, turning the ball over on their first six possessions and allowing ULM to get out to a 10-0 lead. Pope led the Mavericks at the half with 10 points, as UTA went into the locker room down 38-22.

After shooting only 28 percent in the first half, the Mavs shot 67 percent from the floor for the first 10 minutes of the second half. Suleiman hit three 3-pointers for the Mavs in the second half, as UTA climbed within eight points of the Warhawks.

However, ULM was regain control and pull away for the win. UT Arlington returns to action at University of Louisiana at Lafayette on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
