 THE GAME: UT Arlington women's basketball looks for a sweep against Georgia State Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at College Park Center. The Mavericks began the month with a 67-51 win over the Panthers on their home court, claiming their first Sun Belt Conference win of the season.

 SCOUTING GEORGIA STATE: The Panthers sit at fifth place in the SBC standings with an 8-6 league record and are 12-14 overall. GSU is led by senior guard Kendra Long averaging 13.7 points per game. Junior center Brittany Logan is the leading rebounder for the Panthers with 8 board per contest.
 LAST TIME OUT: UT Arlington women's basketball could not hold on to an 11-point lead in Saturday evening's 69-60 loss to UALR at Jack Stephens Center. Senior guard Laila Suleiman scored in double figures after a two-game single-digit scoring stint. Suleiman led the team with 18 points. UT Arlington finished the half shooting 52.4 percent from the floor, 71.4 percent from beyond the arc and a perfect 10-for-10 from the foul line to lead 37-30. UALR started the second half with back-to-back buckets, closing the gap 37-34. The Trojans took their first lead since the opening basket after a three-point play. UALR kept the momentum going during a 15-2 run that was too much for the Mavericks to overcome.
 WHO TO WATCH: Desherra Nwanguma is leading the league with 9.8 rebounds per game, shooting 54.5 percent from the floor. She also averages 1.6 blocks per contest in Sun Belt play. Nwanguma scored a career-high 34 points this season when the Mavericks defeated UL Lafayette 73-54. She has recorded seven double-doubles this season.
 GERLICH ERA: Krista Gerlich is in her first season at UTA after seven years at West Texas A&M. Gerlich compiled an impressive record of 168-53 in seven seasons at West Texas A&M. Her teams won four consecutive South Division Lone Star Conference titles from 2007-10 and three consecutive Lone Star Conference championships from 2008-10.
 LINEUP CHANGE: Coach Gerlich has used six lineups in 25 games so far this season. Senior Laila Suleiman is the only Maverick to start all 25 contests.
 MAVERICKS IN 2013-14: UT Arlington returns eight letterwinners and two starters from last year. The Mavericks welcome two freshmen as well as four transfers (one sophomore and three juniors) for the 2013-14 season.
