THE GAME:
UT Arlington women's basketball plays its final game of the 2013-14 season Saturday evening as they face South Alabama in Mobile at 5 p.m. The last time the two schools met, the Jaguars defeated the Mavericks SCORE in overtime in Arlington.

SCOUTING SOUTH ALABAMA: South Alabama is 7-20 overall and 5-12 in Sun Belt action. Senior Meghan Dunn leads the Jaguars in scoring with 12.6 points per game. Junior guard Breanna Hall is also averaging in double figures with 10 points per game.

LAST TIME OUT: UT Arlington fell behind early and couldn't recover in Wednesday night's 88-72 setback to Troy at Trojan Arena. The Trojans (12-16, 8-9) swept the two-game series with UT Arlington. Troy guard Joanna Harden, the fifth-leading scorer in the country, topped all players with 24 points. The Mavericks committed 32 turnovers, leading to 24 points for Troy. UTA did out-shoot and out-rebound the Trojans, but the lost possessions were too much to overcome. Senior forward Briana Walker led the Mavericks with 22 points off the bench, to go along with 11 rebounds. Senior center Desherra Nwanguma had 14 points and 11 rebounds for her sixth double-double. Freshman forward Allyson Te'o finished with 10 points and eight boards.

WHO TO WATCH: Nwanguma is leading the league with 9.4 rebounds per game, shooting 54.4 percent from the floor through Sun Belt action. She also averages 1.6 blocks per contest in Sun Belt play. Nwanguma scored a career-high 34 points this season when the Mavericks defeated UL Lafayette 73-54. She has recorded seven double-doubles this season. She also leads the team rebounding (8.5).

GERLICH ERA: Krista Gerlich is in her first season at UTA after seven years at West Texas A&M. Gerlich compiled an impressive record of 168-53 in seven seasons at West Texas A&M. Her teams won four consecutive South Division Lone Star Conference titles from 2007-10 and three consecutive Lone Star Conference championships from 2008-10.

LINEUP CHANGE: Coach Gerlich has used seven lineups in 28 games so far this season. Senior Laila Suleiman is the only Maverick to start all 28 contests.
