VB: Mavs claim pair of victories

Sept. 6, 2014

Match 1 Stats | Match 2 Stats

LAKE CHARLES, La. - UT Arlington ran through its competition on the final day of The Big Daddy's Invitational as they swept both Jackson State (25-14, 25-12, 25-20) and Louisiana Tech (25-20, 25-20, 25-18) on Saturday. With the four wins, the Mavericks recorded their first sweep of an away tournament since 2007 when they claimed three victories at the Marquette Kick-off Tournament.

"It's a good confidence builder to be able to come down here and win four matches," UT Arlington coach Diane Seymour said. "There are areas that we could have played better in, but our girls did a great job of weathering the storm."

The pair of wins today pushes UTA's record to 7-1 on the season.
