LAS CRUCES, New Mexico - Josh Radcliff finished in a tie for fifth after ending the three-round Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate at 2-over par. UT Arlington finished 11th as a team.
Radcliff, opening the day in a tie for second, left tied with two players from Grand Canyon and a player from Colorado State after finishing his third round with a 3-over-par 74. Radcliff was third in Par 4 scoring and finished with nine birdies overall.
"We had some very good personal achievements this week from Josh Radcliff and Harrison Moore," UTA coach Stuart Deane said. "Josh is making great progress and we would not be surprised if he broke though for his first win this season. Harrison is a walk-on to the program and is making his way to being one our top three on the team. As he becomes more comfortable in his new surroundings, I believe we will see some great results.
"Overall the team needs to believe more in their ability. The skills are there and us as coaches need to continue to reinforce how good they can be."
Aaron Guanlao finished in a tie for 21st with teammate Harrison Moore, who was competing as an individual. Guanlao was 4-over par in his final round and 8 over overall. Moore, matching Guanlao on the final day, finished with a 220 overall.
Jake Greenspoon was unable to continue his momentum built from the second round and finished with 80. Greenspoon was one of 10 in competition with an eagle.
As a team, the Mavericks finished with an overall score of 893. UTEP won the team competition with a 2-over-par tournament, featuring two players in the top five. Lamar's Mans Berglund won the individual event with a 4-under-par 209, helped along by a 5-under-par 66 in his second round.
UTA returns to Texas to continue its fall schedule, heading to Dallas to compete in the Royal Oaks Intercollegiate beginning on Oct. 26.
