ARLINGTON, Texas - The schedule doesn't get any easier for UT Arlington as the Lady Mavericks welcome Seton Hall to College Park Center on Tuesday.

Completing play against three tough opponents - including No. 5 Baylor - in the Preseason WNIT, the next team up is defending Big East co-champion Seton Hall (4-0), who sits just outside the USA Today Top 25 Coaches Poll.

"I love the way Seton Hall plays because they are so physically tough," Gerlich said. "They are tough in every position. They are physically and mentally tough, they are everything that we are trying to bring out in our kids. They have some great athletes and we are going to have to control that in the best way that we can. We need to make sure that we compete as a team and counter that athleticism. Hopefully we will respond to that challenge in being physically tough and being ready to battle."

The Pirates picked up three wins last week and feature the Big East Player of the Week Tiffany Jones. Jones scored 16.7 points per game in the week and featured a 20-point effort against Rutgers.

For the Lady Mavericks (1-2) to compete against the Pirates, Gerlich is hoping to see the team play consistent throughout both halves of the matchup. UTA put together 37-point efforts in the second half of Jacksonville and first half of McNeese State. However, scored a combined 39 points in the first versus the Dolphins and second against the Cowgirls.

"Our practices have to be consistent," Gerlich said. "We have to put together full practices and make sure the intensity level is high and we are trying to compete. We need to put the same effort on both sides of the ball. We have to have internal competition that pushes each other."

A consistent bright spot has been the play of senior Morgan Holly. Holly recorded back-to-back double-digit scoring outings in the last two games. Her double-double against McNeese State - accomplished as early as the third quarter - was the first for the team outside of Rebekah VanDijk in the last two seasons.

"I am glad about the numbers she is putting up," Gerlich said. "We knew she is capable of that and then in film you can see that she can even do more. She has got to continue to believe in herself and be confident in herself."

The Lady Mavericks and Pirates meet for the first time, while it is just UTA's fifth game against a team from the conference, last meeting St. Johns in 2009.
