Non-Conference Slate For Women’s Basketball Dropped On Tuesday Afternoon

ARLINGTON, Texas – The UT Arlington women's basketball team announced their non-conference schedule, presented by Under Armour, which features 12 games, four at home, five on the road along with three games at the Hawaii North Shore Showcase.

This year continues a trend for the Lady Mavs and playing a challenging non-conference schedule, including three games against power four opponents, one who made an Elite Eight run.

The schedule kicks off with a big-time exhibition game against Division I opponent New Mexico inside the College Park Center on Tuesday, Oct. 28. This will be the first time in program history the Lady Mavs play against a DI opponent in an exhibition game.

The regular season kicks off on Tuesday, Nov. 4, when they travel to Houston to take on the Cougars. UTA hosted Houston last season inside the CPC which saw the Lady Mavs defeat the Cougars 61-57.

The Lady Mavs will be at home the next three games, starting with Missouri State on Friday, Nov. 7. This will be the second overall meeting between the two and first time since 1987 as well as the Bears' first ever trip to Arlington. UTA returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 11, when they welcome Wyoming to the CPC. This will be the third meeting all-time with the overall matchup knotted at one game apiece. This will be the Cowgirls second ever trip to Arlington and first since they won back in 1986.

Rounding out the three game homestand will be Tennessee State in this year's homecoming action on Friday, Nov. 14. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

The Lady Mavs hit the road for the remainder of November, beginning with a trip to Beaumont to battle the Cardinals of Lamar on Sunday, Nov. 16. This will be the 44th matchup all-time between the two programs with UTA holding the edge 24-19. Away from Arlington, UTA boasts a 9-9 record.

UTA then sets its sites on the Hawaii North Shore Showcase for three games before Thanksgiving. The Lady Mavs are set to play on Nov. 22, 24 and 25 with matchups and times set to be released at a later date. Joining UTA in Oahu will be Colorado, Texas A&M and VCU.

Kicking off December, the Lady Mavs will stay on the road for their next two games, starting with Little Rock on Tuesday, Dec. 2. This will be the 21st meeting between the former Sun Belt foes, with UTA trailing in the all-time series 12-8. Ten days later on Friday, Dec. 12, the Lady Mavs will travel to Houston to take on Rice in their eighth meeting all-time with UTA holding a 5-2 advantage in the series.

UTA's final home non-conference match sees the Lady Mavs hosting Texas Southern. This will be their first matchup since November 2022 and the 18th overall time the two programs have met with the Lady Mavs holding a 7-10 overall record with a 4-5 home record.

The Lady Mavs wrap up the non-conference slate with their first-ever trip to Baton Rouge to take on the Tigers of LSU. This will be the third overall matchup between the two programs and the first time since 1978 the two have met. UTA holds a 1-1 record against the Tigers with both games taking place at a neutral location.

Tip times and broadcast information are expected to be released in the coming weeks. UTA season-ticket deposits are currently underway with just a one-time payment of $50 to reserve a seat for the 2025-26 campaign. That payment guarantees a seat and will be applied to the total ticket purchase amount later this year. Single-game tickets will be available in the coming months.
