ARLINGTON, Texas -
UT Arlington will wrap up nonconference play this week with a Wednesday night matchup against Oral Roberts.

"They've played a pretty good schedule," UT Arlington coach Diane Seymour said of the Golden Eagles. "They knocked off Marquette in five which is a great win for them and they also beat Miami. They've also lost to some teams in three straight sets so they may be a little inconsistent and still finding their groove."

The Mavericks are coming off of an impressive past week, going 3-1 with wins over Abilene Christian, Southeast Missouri and Northwestern State. UTA showed its dominance at the net in the four matches, out-blocking its opponents by 0.5 blocks per set. Setting the tone was freshman middle blocker Marisah Ingram who recorded a team-high 1.38 blocks per set.

Ingram and sophomore outside hitter Qiana Canete were especially potent over the weekend as the duo picked up Razorback Invitational All-Tournament honors. Ingram averaged 1.3 kills and 1.2 blocks over the weekend, while also garnering a .323 hitting percentage. Canete provided a spark for the Mavericks, recording 3.2 kills per set, while also digging 1.2 balls per set.

The match between the Mavericks and Golden Eagles is slated to begin at 7 p.m. CT at the Cooper Aerobics Center.

Match Notes

- A former Maverick player, Seymour helped pick up a pair of wins over the Golden Eagles in the 1986 and 1987 seasons.

- Holding an 8-3 mark heading into the final nonconference matchup, the Mavericks have clinched a winning nonconference record for the sixth time since Seymour took over the program.

- The storied career of UTA libero Caitlyn Cooney will look to take another step forward as she sits 25 digs shy of moving into seventh in career digs by a Maverick player. Cooney's career total of 1,525 puts her in position to pass Ana de Oliveira's 1,550.

- The play of freshmen Ingram and Zhanelle Geathers has helped spur the Mavericks blocking effort as the duo has combined for 89 total blocks. The duo is currently averaging 1.33 and 0.95 blocks per set respectively.
