ARLINGTON, Texas -- UT Arlington volleyball made quick work of ULM and swept the Warhawks in Sun Belt competition Friday night at College Park Center.
UTA improved to 12-14 overall and rose above .500 in Sun Belt play (6-5) to snap a two-match losing skid in Arlington. ULM (8-20, 2-8) fell victim to its fourth-straight sweep this season.
The Mavericks allowed three straight ULM points to start the night, but slammed the door shut with a 25-10 Set 1 victory. UTA didn't let its foot off the gas in the second frame with a 6-0 opening run, hitting .452 to the Warhawks' -.031 to complete the 25-9 win.
ULM didn't go quietly in the final set and held the Mavs within three until late. A bad set and trio of kills from Qiana Cantete fueled an 11-1 run that ultimately acquired the set 25-15.

Quotables
Head coach Diane Seymour on tonight's sweep:
"We wanted to build off our play from Tuesday. We know it was a disappointing loss, but we did play really well. The important thing down the last six matches here is that we play good volleyball and try and get that opportunity to peak at the right time."
Seymour on Saturday's matchup with Louisiana:
"They are a lot more athletic. They have two really fast middles and we are going to have to be ready to defend that. They're going to play a faster pace than what we saw tonight, but we're going to be able to answer that with no problem."
Canete on bouncing back from Texas State:
"We really wanted to come in and play hard today, get through these guys and play faster tomorrow."
Geathers on the team's serving ability:
"It was a lot of technical things. Serving was a big thing for us because we missed a couple at the wrong times on Tuesday, but we practiced a lot and it showed."
Up Next
The Mavericks will honor Cassidy Wheeler and Kaitlyn Granger on Senior Night Saturday prior to their meeting with Louisiana. The match is set for 6:30 p.m. at CPC.
