ARLINGTON, Texas - In her fourth season as head coach of the UT Arlington women's basketball program, Krista Gerlich continued to bolster her squad with the announcement of the 2017 signing class.

"Both Jennifer and Michaela are exciting signs for us and exactly what we needed in this class," Gerlich said. "They not only will help us on the court, but they will be excellent ambassadors for UTA in the classroom and in our community."

Michaela Wright
Father Tolton Catholic HS | Columbia Mo. | Center

Notable: Wright is a two-sport athlete at Father Tolton Catholic High School. Lettering in basketball and volleyball for the Trailblazers, she earned All-District basketball honors and All-District, All-Region and All-State honors in volleyball. Wright is a two-time Missouri Homeschool Basketball State Champion and team MVP. In three years of high school, Wright has accumulated 1,013 points (10.8/game), 881 rebounds (9.4/game) and 361 blocked shots (3.8 per game).

Coach Gerlich:
"I am so excited about Michaela Wright. She is a 6-foot-5 athlete who can run the floor, finish in transition, block shots, and has a really nice jump hook. Michaela's work ethic is second to none and her desire to be the best she can be is going to skyrocket her potential."

Jennifer Parker
Rouse HS | Leander, Texas | Forward

Notable: The Leander, Texas native has picked up a number of accolades at Rouse High School, earning First-Team All-District as a junior and Second-Team All-District as a freshman and sophomore. A team captain the past two seasons, Parker was the team Defensive MVP as a sophomore and team MVP in her junior campaign. She is also a member of the Academic All-District Team, Cedar Park All-Tournament Team and Bastrop All-Tournament Team.

Coach Gerlich:
"Jennifer is a great athlete who will immediately help us defend and rebound! I love her athleticism and strength as a high school senior. She is very skilled on the block and I'm looking forward to developing her into one of the best forwards in our league. Jennifer has loved UTA since the day she stepped on campus and will be a great addition to our team."
