ARLINGTON, Texas -
UTA continues the opening weekend of Sun Belt play when conference newcomer Coastal Carolina comes to College Park Center on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Lady Mavericks (8-3, 1-0) won their SBC opener on Thursday night and look to improve to 2-0 in the conference for the second time in four years since joining. The Chanticleers fell to 5-6 overall and 0-1 in conference after their loss to Texas State. Tickets are available for all UTA games at UTATickets.com. All Lady Mavericks games are broadcast on Mavs All-Access with Amanda Kent calling the action. The subscription based service starts at $9.99 per month and gives fans access to all Lady Mavs games.

UTA continued its streak of being a defensive power in the nation, forcing 22 turnovers on defense, a feat ranked No. 11 in the nation with 22.7 forced per game. Rebekah VanDijk scored a game-high 20 points, her third game of the season scoring 20 or more.

The Lady Mavs enter with a three-game home winning streak, last losing at College Park Center to Stephen F. Austin on Dec. 3.

Following its clash on Saturday, UTA hits the road for three. The trek begins at in-state rival Texas State to begin the 2017 portion of its schedule next Saturday.

The 2017 Sun Belt Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Championships are scheduled for a week of March Madness in the Big Easy. New Orleans will once again be home to the two championships that will take place at Lakefront Arena from March 7-12 and ticket books can now be purchased from your school's ticket office.
