FORT WORTH - As summer heats up, it is the UT Arlington golf coaches who are firing on all cylinders. UTA coach Stuart Deane and associate head coach Casey Devoll finished one and two at the TelePacific Communications Western Championship at Mira Vista Country Club on Tuesday.

Deane saved the best for the final round as he knocked down five birdies to finish 3-under overall in the two-round tournament. With the win, Deane has captured 11 Northern Texas PGA Individual Major Championships.

"I think last week helped," Deane told NTPGA.com after the win. "I played last week with Devoll in the Texas Team Championship, and I played really nice there, so that gave me some confidence heading into this event."

Devoll finished tied for second with three others at 2-under par.

The 128-player field was comprised of golf professionals from the Northern Texas Section of the PGA of America who competed for an overall purse of $37,360. Professionals in the Open division competed for a $26,850 purse.

This 36-hole NTPGA major championship was the second of four individual stroke play events that
comprise the Yamaha Golf-Car Company / Lajitas Golf Resort Player of the Year Points Challenge, and served as a qualifier for the 2016 Texas Joe Black Cup team.
