ARLINGTON, Texas - The Lady Mavericks seek to end their two-game losing streak when they host Arkansas State on Saturday at College Park Center. The 2 p.m. tipoff is presented by LBL Architects.
UTA (15-6, 8-3) is looking to rebound from its two-game skid, the longest of Sun Belt play and get a monkey off its back against Arkansas State (5-19, 3-9). The Redwolves have had UTA's number since the Lady Mavs joined the conference in the 2013-14 season. ASU has won the last 10 games in the all-time series dating back to UTA's last win in 1987 when both teams were in the Southland Conference
"We have to pick ourselves back up," UTA coach Krista Gerlich said. "That is the thing about this conference. You play so quickly with the turnaround. You have to learn from it, pick yourself back up and focus because the next game is your biggest game. We have to continue to try to take care of business and position ourselves the best we can for the (Sun Belt) tournament."
The Lady Mavs took SBC front runner Little Rock down to the wire during Lady Maverick Kid's Day on Thursday. UTA led for much of the contest, but a late run by the Trojans pushed them by UTA and to a 12-0 SBC record.
Tickets are available for all UTA games at UTATickets.com. All Lady Mavericks games are broadcast on Mavs All-Access with Amanda Kent calling the action. The subscription based service starts at $9.99 per month and gives fans access to all Lady Mavs games.
