ARLINGTON, Texas -- UTA standouts Brady Cox, Josh Minjarez and Quintin Rohrbaugh have been honored among the top prospects in the Sun Belt Conference, it was announced by Baseball America.

Cox, a senior catcher, was ranked as the seventh-best 2017 MLB Draft prospect in the SBC and Rohrbaugh, a senior outfielder, checked in as the 17th best in 2017. Minjarez, UTA's sophomore shortstop, was tabbed as the seventh-best prospect in the league available for the 2018 MLB Draft.

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Cox is coming off a breakout junior season where was named a semifinalist for the Johnny Bench Award, given annually to the nation's top catcher. He ranked third in the conference in average (.365) and hits (81), ranking fourth in on-base percentage (.427) and fifth in runners picked off. A durable workhorse, Cox reached base safely in 51 of 57 games and made 55 of UTA's 58 starts behind the dish. In his career, Cox has hit .313 (137-for-438) with 70 runs, 21 extra-base hits and 70 RBI.

Minjarez, a native of San Angelo, Texas, earned UTA's shortstop gig as a freshman, making 39 starts. Despite only making 39 of 58 starts, Minjarez showcased elite defensive abilities, ranking eighth in the Sun Belt in defensive assists. In conference play, Minjarez hit .321 with 17 RBI.

A native of Grand Prairie, Texas, Rohrbaugh has carved out a reputation as one of the top on-base machines in the Sun Belt Conference. As a junior, he hit .343 with 36 runs, 79 hits, 13 doubles, four triples, two homers and 35 RBI, owning a .382 on-base percentage. Rohrbaugh, who reached base safely in 52 of 58 games in 2016, hit .361 with runners on base.

UTA, which is receiving votes in the preseason National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll, opens its season on Friday at 2:30 p.m. CT vs. Southeast Missouri State on the campus of Stephen F. Austin.
