ATLANTA, Ga. â€" The east coast has been friendly to UTA women's basketball this season as UTA looks to make it a perfect season in the Eastern Time zone on Saturday against Georgia State on ESPN3. Tipoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT.

The Lady Mavericks have won all five games this year in the Eastern Time zone with wins over Seton Hall, San Diego State, the SBC Carolina schools and Georgia Southern on Thursday night. UTA improved to 17-6 overall this season as it chases its best winning percentage in program history as well as has an opportunity to move to 11 wins in league play, a feat that would equal its best Sun Belt record since joining in 2013-14.

"We have to continue our mentality of being road warriors and taking it one game at a time," UTA coach Krista Gerlich said. "Georgia State is a good basketball team and has a lot of talent. We are playing on their home court, so we have to make sure we are ready and focused and don't get down when it doesn't go in the hole. We just keep shooting it and seeing if it goes in."

UTA featured four to score in double figures on Thursday night as Christina Devers and Cierra Johnson joined up to post 14 points apiece. Rebekah VanDijk scored 12 to overcome foul trouble and Crystal Allen chipped in with 11.

The 3-point shot was able to come alive in a closely fought contest to expand what was a five-point advantage to an 18-point lead in the fourth quarter. UTA had just two of its first 17 3-pointers fall, but hit 5-of-10 in the second half, including three during the final minutes of the third period.

With Thursday's win, UTA improved to 10-1 against the Georgia schools since joining the conference. The lone loss came to Georgia State last season in a home tilt, but the contest at GSU Sports Arena was all Lady Mavericks. Johnson was one of three to score in double figures as UTA won 74-45, using a 24-9 advantage in the third quarter to pull away from the Panthers.
