Postgame Notes

  • UTA improved to 24-6 on the season and 14-3 in the Sun Belt. UTA claimed the outright league title with the victory - the second outright regular season title in program history. The Mavericks concludes their regular season Saturday at Louisiana (7:15 p.m., ESPN3).
  • ULM fell to 8-22 on the season and 2-15 in the Sun Belt. The Warhawks host Texas State Saturday at 2 p.m.
  • ULM's starting lineup consisted of center Sam Alabakis, forwards Sam McDaniel and Travis Munnings and guards Nick Coppola and Marcus Washington.
  • Jalen Jones equaled his season high with 23 points. He went 9-of-12 from the field and equaled the program record by going 4-for-4 from behind the 3-point arc. Head coach Scott Cross is among seven UTA players all-time who have shot 100% from behind the 3-point arc with at least 4 made shots.
  • Kaelon Wilson was UTA's first substitute off the bench for the 22nd time this season, coming into the game at the 15:00 mark of the first half.
  • Senior forward Jorge Bilbao moved into a tie for 5th on the UTA list for career appearances with 121. He equals the participation mark of Shaquille White-Miller (2010-14).
  • Erick Neal attempted 4 3-point field goals at ULM. He moved into 6th on the career list for 3-point attempts with 452, passing Brady Dawkins (449, 2002-06).
  • Neal connected on 3 3-point field goals at ULM. He moved into 9th on the career list for 3-point field goals with 156, passing Rodrick Epps (155, 2004-08).
  • Hervey scored 10 points in today's game at ULM. He has scored in double-figures in 23-straight appearances (He missed the Troy game at Trojan Arena on Jan. 14) and 26 times this season.
  • UTA's over ULM handed UTA the outright Sun Belt Conference regular season title. UTA will be the No. 1 seed at next week's Sun Belt Championships in New Orleans and are guaranteed a postseason berth in the NIT (unless it earns an automatic or at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament).
  • UTA's win at ULM gave the Mavericks 24 wins on the season, equaling the highest total in program history. UTA won 24 games in 2012 & 2016.
