LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Cold shooting and turnovers plagued the UT Arlington men's basketball team Thursday night in a 77-65 setback at Little Rock in a Sun Belt Conference game in the Jack Stephens Center.

The Mavericks connected on 39.1 percent of their shots and just 21 percent from beyond the 3-point arc to drop their fourth straight road contest to fall to 11-7 on the season and 2-3 against league competition.

UTA travels to Jonesboro Saturday for a 7 p.m. game at Arkansas State, which dropped a 73-67 home decision to Texas State earlier this evening. The Red Wolves fell to 6-7 on the season and 1-4 in league play.

Little Rock (4-13, 2-3) remains at Jack Stephens Center to host Texas State Saturday night at 5 p.m.

Senior forward Kevin Hervey led UTA in scoring with 21 points to go with seven rebounds. Grad transfer Johnny Hamilton pitched in 14 points and gathered a game-high 11 rebounds and guard Erick Neal contributed 11 points and five assists.

Sophomore guard Andre Jones led all scorers with 24 points and scored 14 points in a second half that saw the Trojans lead by as many as 16 points with 6:19 left in the game.
