ARLINGTON, Texas – Reigning Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Week Madison Hill turned in a huge performance as the UT Arlington volleyball team won its fifth match in six outings, with a 25-18, 25-20, 25-22 win over ULM on Friday night (Oct. 26) at College Park Center.

With the win, the Mavericks snap ULM's two-match winning streak and improve to 14-8 overall and 8-4 in Sun Belt action, while the Warhawks fall to 9-15 on the season and 2-9 in league play.

Madison Hill finished with a match-high 15 kills with a .722 hitting percentage. Kylie Jedlicka tallied nine kills, 11 digs and four blocks, while Bre Walp added five kills and six blocks. Alex Janek recorded a match-high 19 assists to go with eight digs. Madelyn St. Germain finished with a match-high 16 digs and Kylee Kapp recorded her third career double-double with 17 assists and 10 digs.

The teams traded blows to open the first set. Tied at 16-16, UTA used a 9-2 run, capped by a kill from Hill, to take the opening set (25-18). Hill led all hitters with five kills in the first set.

The Mavericks took the second set 25-20 and never trailed in the frame. Trailing UTA 16-8, ULM used a 7-0 run to get back into the set (16-15), but the Mavericks responded and went on to outscore the Warhawks 9-5 to close out the set and pick up a 25-20 win.

UTA finished off the sweep with a 25-22 win in the third set. ULM held a 22-20 lead late in the set and looked as if they were going to take the frame and extend the match, but UTA used a 5-0 run, capped by a service ace from Petra Manderson, to take the set and the match.

The Mavs will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 27, when they host Louisiana at College Park Center. First serve for the match is set for 6:30 p.m.

Saturday night's match will be UTA Beats Cancer Night and all fans are encouraged to wear pink. A tradition to give back to the community, UTA Athletics has teamed up with the American Cancer Society to host its annual game in support of cancer research.
