LAFAYETTE, La. -- UT Arlington ran into a highly-motivated Louisiana side with a supportive Cajundome crowd behind it, as the Ragin' Cajuns raced to a 100-79 Sun Belt Conference victory Saturday night.

Louisiana connected on 14 3-point field goals, made 50 percent of its shots overall, converted 20-of-21 free throws and won the rebounding battle 43-34 to remain in first place in the league standing. The Ragin' Cajuns improved to 23-4 overall and 13-1 in the Sun Belt and have a 3-game lead at the top of the conference standings with four regular-season games remaining.

UTA dropped to 16-12 on the season and 7-8 in conference play. The Mavericks return to action Thursday when they host Georgia Southern in a 7 p.m. tipoff at College Park Center.

For the second-straight game, senior guard Erick Neal led the Mavericks. The Dallas, Texas native scored a game-high 26 points, shooting 4-of-6 from 3-point range and converting 10-of-13 free throws. Classmate Kevin Hervey scored 21 points to go with 9 rebounds.

Senior Frank Bartley led Louisiana with 25 points, buoyed by an 8-of-15 performance from the field. Five Ragin' Cajuns scored in double figures.
