In the second set, the Mavs found themselves in a three-point hole before they got on the board with a kill from Hill. UTA again found itself down three when Sam Houston went up 10-7, but three consecutive Bearkat errors forced the second of 11 ties in the set. UTA didn't pull away until
Kylie Jedlicka broke a 22-22 tie to give the Mavs a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
The teams were again locked in a tie halfway through the third set, but UTA went on a 5-0 run to take the lead for good and went on to take the third set and complete the sweep.
