ATLANTA, Georgia – The UT Arlington softball team (14-10, 4-0 SBC) won their fourth straight game and kept their perfect Sun Belt record in tact with a 6-3 win over the Georgia State Panthers on Friday.

Randi Philips (8-6) picked up her 14
thstart of the year, earning the win along the way.  She went 4.1 innings, while allowing three runs off seven hits. Â
Allie Gardiner picked up her first save of the year, tossing 2.2 innings and not allowing a run off three hits.

It was an evening of errorless defense for the Mavs, backed up with an offense that finished with eight hits.Â

The Mavs got on the board first with a solo home run to center field by
Reagan Wright.
Â
A sacrifice fly to left field coming off the bat of Remington Hasty evened the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.
Â
UTA used an explosive fifth inning to take a sizable lead over the Panthers.
Krista Rude began the scoring with a bases loaded bunt to give the Mavs the lead again.
Laura Curry brought home the second run of the inning, grounding out to third base before
Aileen Garcia hit a two-RBI single that made its way through the left side of the infield to make it 5-1.

The Panthers got two more on the board in the bottom of the fifth, coming off two runners tagging from third.  The first was a sacrifice fly, while the second run crossed with a foul out.

The Mavericks picked up an insurance run in the top of the seventh, coming off a Curry single up the middle, making it 6-3.

UTA will look to clinch the series with Georgia State tomorrow at 1 p.m. EST at Robert E. Heck Softball Complex.
