ARLINGTON, Texas — A quick turnaround is in store for the UT Arlington men's tennis team (9-5) as they take on Georgia State and Georgia Southern this weekend at the UTA Tennis Center. It will be the first Sun Belt matches of the year, while wrapping up a six-match home stand.
The Mavs will open up the weekend against Georgia State on Friday, March 22 at 2 p.m. before hosting Georgia Southern on Sunday, March 24 at 10 a.m.
UTA is coming off a route of Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, winning 4-0 on Tuesday at the UTA Tennis Center.

Jakub Grzegorczyk all won their singles sets in straight sets, while the teams of Pardo/
Eduard Simo and Hayen/
Miguel Cabrera clinched the doubles point for the Mavs.
UTA NOTES
• Senior
Guanarteme Nuez picked up one of the biggest wins of his career earlier this week, defeating the 11
th ranked player in the nation. Nuez is now on an eight-match winning streak and has a 10-3 record overall.

Enrique Pardo has been dominant this spring, losing just two matches. His 12-2 record is leading the team, thanks in part to winning nine of his last ten matches.
• Pardo has also been able to lock down his doubles position with teammate
Eduard Simo. The two have an 8-3 record in the spring in the No. 2 doubles competition.
SCOUTING GEORGIA STATE
The Panthers hold a 7-8 overall record this spring and are coming off a 4-3 loss at No. 45 South Florida on Monday (March 18). Roberts Grinvalds (7-4) and Vazha Subladze (6-4) are the lone Panthers with winning records in the singles competition, playing in the No. 2 and No. 3 slots, respectively.
SCOUTING GEORGIA SOUTHERN
Georgia Southern is 12-5 overall and will face off against Louisiana on Friday to open Sun Belt play on Friday before facing UT Arlington on Sunday. Antonio Muniz is 10-5 overall on the season, including 8-1 in the No. 2 slot. Pascal Wagemaker, Murphy McCullough, Diego Finkelstein and Stefano Di Aloy all have at least eight wins in singles play. As a team, the Eagles are 20-20 in doubles competition.
ON DECK
The Mavs will hit the road for the first time in a month, traveling to Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State on March 29 and March 31 before ending the road trip against SMU on April 3.
