SAN MARCOS, Texas – The UT Arlington volleyball (9-6, 9-6 SBC) fell to No. 11 Texas State (20-1, 15-0 SBC) in straight-sets (25-15, 25-22, 25-17) on Friday night at Strahan Arena.
UTA won the battle on blocks (5-3) but hit just .132 for the match, while Texas State hit .234 on the night.
Janell Fitzgerald led TXST with a match-high 13 kills, while Lauren Teske added eight kills and added seven blocks and Emily DeWalt recorded a double-double with 42 assists and 10 digs.
Briana Brown led UTA with seven kills, while
Brooke Townsend and
Brianna Ford finished with six kills each.
Mollie Blank racked up 18 assists and five digs and
Kylee Kapp totaled 11 assists and eight digs.
Alli Wells finished with a match-high 24 digs.
The in-state foes will wrap up the regular season with a match on Saturday afternoon. First serve for the contest is set for 1:00 p.m. at Strahan Arena.
