ARLINGTON – Five Lady Mavs, led by
Terryn Milton's career-high 24 points, scored in double figures as the UTA women's basketball team cruised to an 82-37 win over ULM on Friday night at College Park Center.
With the win, UTA improves to 4-3 overall and 2-1 in Sun Belt play, while ULM falls to 2-5 on the season and 0-1 in league action.
Milton shot 10-of-13 from the field, 3-of-4 from behind the arc and 1-of-2 from the charity stripe to finish with her game-high and career-high 24 points. The junior also added five assists, three rebounds and a pair of steals in 24 minutes of action.
Camryn Hawkins finished with 13 points off the bench, while
Shyia Smith and
Misty Dossey both registered 11 points and eight boards.
Jordynn Hernandez chipped in with 11 points, five steals and four assists.
The Lady Mavs, who led by 16 points at halftime (42-26), held ULM to 11 pts in the second half. The Warhawks made just four field goals and shot 14.3 percent (4-of-28) from the floor in the second half. ULM also missed all seven of their three-point attempts in the final 20 minutes of the contest.
UTA knocked down 32-of-69 (46.4 percent) shots from the floor and made nine triples, while ULM was limited to just 23.6 percent (13-of-55) from the field and went 1-of-18 from long distance. The Lady Mavs forced the Warhawks, who were playing in their first game since Dec. 17 due to COVID-19 related issues, into 23 turnovers on the night.
UTA and ULM will wrap up their 2-game Sun Belt series at 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon at College Park Center.
