ARLINGTON, Texas – Brooke Townsend collected her 1,000
th career kill, but the UT Arlington volleyball team was unable to pull out a victory as they fell 3-0 (16-25, 13-25, 18-25) to Coastal Carolina.
Townsend ended the match with six kills as she became the 19
th member of the 1,000-kill club.
Briana Brown led the Mavericks with nine kills.
Mollie Blank paced the match with 10 assists, while
Kylee Kapp added eight.
Alli Wells finished with 14 digs, while
Monica LaFleur led the Mavericks with two blocks.

Tied at three a piece, the Chanticleers went on a 9-0 run to take a commanding 12-3 lead, ended by a kill from
Brianna Ford. The lead grew to as many as 11 before
Briana Brown sparked a 4-0 run with a kill to cut the deficit to seven points. The Mavericks would get no closer, eventually falling by nine points.
SET 2 | UTA 13, CCU 25 | CCU LEADS 2-0
With the set once again tied at three, Coastal used a 5-0 run to take an 8-3 lead. The Mavericks were unable to slow down the Chanticleer attack as they used two separate 4-0 runs to take a 12 point lead and win 25-13.
SET 3 | UTA 18, CCU 25 | CCU WIN 3-0
The Chanticleers jumped out to an early 8-3 lead in the final set, using runs of four and three to gain their lead. The Mavericks cut the lead to three points, using kills from
Kaylen Beaty,
Kainah Williams and
Alli Wells along the way. The Chanticleers pulled away from that moment to take the third set.
UP NEXT
UTA will hit the road next weekend as they travel to the Peach State to take on Georgia State (Oct. 29) and Georgia Southern (Oct. 31).
