Box Score CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Ricardo Alban reached the finals of the Islander Open hosted by Texas A&M Corpus Christi, as the UT Arlington men's tennis team wrapped up fall tournament play.
 
Alban found the most success he's had this fall, picking up two wins and advancing to the finals of Flight B.  Alban defeated Ernesto Mealla (TAMUCC) 6-4, 7-5 in the quarterfinals before taking down Borja Delgado (TAMUCC) 7-5, 3-6, 10-4.  Alban Would fall to Kyohei Yamanaka (TAMUCC) 6-2, 6-0 in the championship match.
 
Solano Caffarena was the only other Maverick to find success, defeating Ryuya Ata (TAMUCC) in the quarterfinals 7-5, 3-6, 10-4, but would fall to Caleb Chakravarthi (SMU) 3-6, 6-3, 6-10.
 
Caffarena and Alban also teamed up to reach the finals in the doubles tournament.  They defeated Schwartz/Lorieul (TAMUCC) 8-5 in the quarterfinals and Susser/Clark (SMU) 6-2 in the Finals.  Chakravarthi/Steinhausen (SMU) would get the best of the tandem in the finals, however, 7-6 (6).
