The Bobcats went on a 6-1 run after the kill to take a commanding 19-14 lead late in the set. The Maverick cut the lead to two following a Bobcat service error, but the lead was too much to overcome as Texas State won three of the final four points.

SET 2 | UTA 18, TXST 25 | TXST LEADS 2-0
The Bobcats continued their momentum into set three, winning the first five points and taking a 10-3 lead early on. The Mavs cut the lead to three with a Martinka kill, but the Bobcats used a series of runs to open the set back up, winning 25-18.

The Mavericks took their first lead in the third set with a kill from Briana Brown to open the set. The led 7-5 following a Townsend kill, but the Bobcats evened it up with a kill from Janell Fitzgerald at 10-10. Still tied at 13, the Bobcats used a 4-0 run to take a 17-13 lead and force a Maverick timeout. UTA battled back, cutting the lead to just one point at 24-23, but a well-timed Bobcat timeout ended the momentum as Texas State took the final point and the match.
