MONROE, La. – The UT Arlington volleyball team (11-14, 9-7 Sun Belt) picked up their fifth straight win in a sweep over ULM on Sunday (25-18, 25-14, 25-23), securing the No. 2 seed of the West in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament next week in Foley, Alabama.
Briana Brown and
Brianna Ford led the Mavericks with 14 kills, while
Kainah Williams hit an astonishing .769 (10-0-13) in the match.
Mollie Blank paced the match with 26 assists, while
Kylee Kapp added 10.
Defensively,
Alli Wells led all players with 18 digs.
Brooke Townsend (3),
Kainah Williams (2) and
Brianna Ford (2) all had multi-block performances.
SET 1 | UTA 25, ULM 18 | UTA LEADS 1-0
The Mavericks took the first three points and never relinquished the lead. Leading 20-17, the Mavericks went on a 5-1 run to end the set and win by a set-high seven points. The Mavericks hit .319 in the first set and had just two attacking errors.
SET 2 | UTA 25, ULM 14 | UTA LEADS 2-0
UTA scored the first seven points before a bad set gave the Warhawks their first point. A kill from
Brianna Ford put the Mavs up double-digits and forced a ULM timeout. UTA hit an impressive .432 in the second set while holding the Warhawks in .114 hit percentage.
SET 3 | UTA 25, ULM 23 | UTA WINS 3-0
The Warhawks picked up their first lead of the match in the third set. With the Mavericks leading 15-10, ULM fought back to take a 23-21 lead. Three straight kills from
Briana Brown put the Mavs back on top before an attacking error by ULM gave UTA the set and the sweep.

The Mavericks head to Foley, Ala. for the Sun Belt Conference Tournament where they will be the No. 2 seed of the West. UTA will receive a bye and play Friday for their first match.
